Oh guys, I'm getting color issues. My computer changes them when working from BPM in to GIF. Any advice?

To make it simple: Paint sucks.
To elaborate it a bit: The gif conversion of paint is less than perfect. Use a Programm with a loss-free converter like photoshop. It's actually possible to get a decent copy of an older version for not too much money. Believe me: photoshop is way more comfortable than paint. You'll love it. Especially if you spend plenty of time working with your graphics application.

And By th way: the new color palette is very nice! Not so... rainbowy and much more pleasing for the eyes.

Personally, I prefer Paint for general deckplanning, but I always use photoshop to convert the images into GIFs.

Photoshop... right... yeah, I have zero extra money to spare on that. This is just a diversion for me, not even a hobby.

The PNG conversion seem to be working, so I'll stick with that.

Actually (Sp?) I recently saw, in Barnes & Noble, that a magazine. had a free demo version of, I think, Photoshop. The magazine cost $15.50 US. It was a British magazine, if anyone wants to, give me a couple of days I can give you the name of the magazine. OK?

Thanks to inspiration from klick and others, here are some more examples:

It will take some time to reach full consistency, but imagine what a helluva work it would have been, if we had slowly modified and changed the old palette. emoticon

That would have taken months more and created immense confusion... emoticon

Btw.: It is great to see the high acceptance of the new scheme, especially because I could never have thought of all the applications for the new colors that you all seem to have found. That is why I love this community. Thank you. emoticon

Photoshop is expensive, but Elements isn't. You can pick up a copy of Photoshop Elements 2.0 (what I use) for around $20.

But I must admit that I use Paint 70-80% of the time. PSE is mostly for color conversion (thanks, Void), opacity of canopies and such.

But Paint will convert to png with no problems, at least from my experience.

I have been converting and working in PNG, and it has been practically a life saver for the color conversions.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, windows (the kind you look out) I'm using row 2 colors 1 & 2 of the extra color pallet. Could we make that the norm?
