Re: Lambda Shuttle

looking awesome so far Lars!

I agree with Void, as well as I think I prefer the complex line shading as well. emoticon

However, the choice is yours, of course. emoticon

Keep it up! this ship is looking awesome so far!

regards,
Lucas

Re: Lambda Shuttle

Hey,

this was my first project several years ago but it is still not finished. Maybe a little bit to ambitious.

The picture below shows the current status of the WIP.

May have been ambitious but looks damn good.

Re: Lambda Shuttle

Hey,

further progress on the lambda shuttle.

All external views are now in the correct color.

Currently I am working on the landing gear and the boarding ramp. The ramp is directly linked to the internal layout. Therefore it is not taht easy to put a suitable ramp on it.

Re: Lambda Shuttle

Now that the train is finished I spent some time on the interior of the Lambda Shuttle.

Most time consuming was to find a solution for the entry ramp. Major goal was not to have only a hole on the main floor where everybody can fall through. Another point was the layout of the cockpit and the "neck" section.

Re: Lambda Shuttle

Basic layout of the crawlspace or engineering level below the main deck. I tried to find a good compromise between diffrent sources. Currently I am working on the engines.

Mostly the layout is based on a picture which I found in the "Incredible Cross Sections" book. But to have room for several configurations which are mentioned in books or comics it is necessary to have further room for special equipment (square room behind the entry ramp).

First draft of a possible engine design of the Shuttle...

The design is based on the picture below from the cross sections book. But I am not really happy with it. I think it need a few more iterations to come to a solution.

Re: Lambda Shuttle

Thank you,

due to the bunch of sources it is a hard piece of work. It is very difficult to find a compromise which meets every statement.

And I think I missed some important sources. emoticon
