Re: YT-1300/Millennium Falcon WIP

Okay,

I've done some initial fitting .... and it looks likely I can squeeze this escape pod system in.

I have pulled the ortho views that answer if this is possible.

Starboard view with the greeblies put in based on a rough landmarking technique that aligns with upper hull plating detail.

then the deckplan... the black lines are the hallway guidelines I'll use to detail the tube hallway... and the red chunk of hull is where the greeblie in question lines up... and it actually lines up... I was surprised.

(note that I've removed the old escape pod stuff in the engine room)

and lastly is the a slice of the hamburger to see if the tube and pod stuff can fit in there... in the 3rd dimension... and it can.. it'll be a very tight fit and I have no clue yet how to pack in several escape pods.. but I'm sure we'll think of something...

and there is some initial escape pod rough drawings that kinda match TLJ ... very rough.. but it looks like all that will fit in that area. Oh and I made so Chewie can be shoehorned in an escape pod.. he is packed tight but he'll will live...

some fixing on the details (adjust main hallway entry too) but it looks like this is possible

Wow Nice! Looks like you could fit Chewie's whole clan in there! emoticon

Yeah, I have seen that. It is a very well done model. It is based on an older "official" LFL deckplan.

It has the same issues as other plans I've seen.... its not clear if the cockpit is at the same level as the holo-chess table room, escape pods, also the entry ramp is steeper .... all issues that are known, but just hidden by the view or not addressed.

It is no more or less valid a fix for the Falcon then other plans.

I don't agree with the layout, as i have made other calculations and based my layout on other factors that I prioritized.

EDIT:

I rewatched it, it appears to be a mix of older and newer deckplans. But either way it uses the LFL official takes on it. Fun watch...

But again, it is a very nice model.

Re: YT-1300/Millennium Falcon WIP

okay so finally an update... the falcon escape pods

Thanks to Millenniumf1138 for the initial screen grabs.. super helpful to set up the room and door details.

I also was able to find a picture of the pod I think it comes from a the updated Haynes book...

Image

So I was able to fill in some blanks.

I have made the pod bigger than what we see in the film though... so i can fit Chewie in there... In TLJ Rey slides in and she is shoulder to shoulder in wall.. so not much room... and it looks just big enough to fit her.. so I make it a slightly bigger...

now that I got the pod and escape room door done I can start applying that to the deckplan... now to do all that at an angle... oh joy...

anyways... its progress none the less... so enjoy.... feedback and suggestions always welcome...

Dang... I just saw an error on the attitude thrusters on the orthos... okay.. I'll fix that by the next update...

damn Kal. that looks amazeballs.
just wondering why the escape pod has a status display on the outside of the pod....or in this case, two of them....

This is one of the most epic falcon plans I've ever seen. Bunks should NOT be near the engines. The mastery of MS paint for the various sections is amazing. Even baby Yoda smiles upon this effort. emoticon
