In pursuit of a light freighter
This is a follow up to the discarded PL-100.
She was smaller but had to be up-scaled to 160 feet long to make the docking ports an appropiate size. I'd like to get something like this around 100 feet long. But i'm not changing this design, it will be the top end of the light freighters.
This will be a Novatech design, however I have't come up with a production identifier.
Just looking at it, I might make those wings swing.
The Critics say:
Critic One: Looks like a Cardassian symbol to me.
Critic Two: Yeah. Kind of looks like the Venerator and a Jedi starfighter from Ep3, too.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
Well i'd say the Docking Tube make it look a bit like a CEC Design, while it also is a bit reminiscent of a Narn Design (Babylon 5). But overall it looks very Star Warsy.
Though my first thought was: "Looks a bit like a stretched YT, without Sidecockpit and Spoilers".
But it looks like a good Design.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
I like the shape.
Are the wings retractable? And what are they for? So far they seem to make docking pretty much impossible.

Looks like a cross between a yt freighter and Darth Mauls ship.
I like it.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
The side docking hatches do seem to be recessed quite a bit into the hull, wouldn't that also making dockings difficult even ignoring the wings.
Try to imagine two of the same ship docking! almost impossible unless they do it off axis at 90 degrees or have extending docking tubes that extend a couple meters out.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
I will say that the docking tube is designed that way on purpose, which I will disclose later when that section is detailed. And I mentioned the swinging the wing to make docking easier.
Thanks.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
As they are now, the wings can't swing enough to make a real difference. If they could, they would have to take up most of the aft sections internal space. That would not be very good. How about putting in hinges and swinging them up like a Lambda does?

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
Does the ship need them?
How about posting a pic without the wings.

Re: In pursuit of a light freighter
This looks like it would make a nifty customs cruiser/ system patrol cutter. Looks very aggressive, like it's moving fast even when not moving.
