LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy

Scheduled for a September 12th release date. PS2, PSP, Xbox, Xbox 360, GameCube, Nintendo DS, Game Boy Advance.

I could easily be wrong here, but this is the first time I've seen a Star Wars game for the 360...

And I couldn't help but laugh out loud when I saw the demo version of the current (prequel trilogy) LEGO Star Wars game being played. The Red Corellian Cruiser gets blown up (apart) in the Episode 1 part, and all that's left are the pilot/co-pilot hanging in mid-air just long enough to look at each other before falling (and shattering) to the ground.

hehe.

I did play the first one briefly at the store, looked pretty good. Reviews were pretty mediocre if I recall though.

Is there going to be a PC version?

regards,
Lucas

Well, one thing you have to remember is the target demographic... but you've given me an idea.

I go to GameSpot's website and look at games I'm seeing at work -- do you guys (and gals) think it might be worthwhile to set up a thread (either here or as part of the Link Archive) linking their reviews of Star Wars games?

Maybe, but it was a hella fun game. There was just no way to play the game without a huge smile on you face the entire time. It was really simple and easy but sooo fun. Too much charm (and the fact that you can 'kill' the second player without any consequences... killing a Lego Jar Jar with a lightsabre didn't get old even after the 100th time. emoticon ).

Basically what I'm saying is give it a try if you haven’t already, play it with a friend (more of a rental than buy IMO). And I'm really looking forward to the proper Star Wars version.

Should be a pretty easy job... I'll get started on a list when I get home tonight (I'm at the in-laws' house right now).

EDIT: Actually, I thought of a better idea that won't require updating and also won't raise any IP infringement issues. I'll post the following link in the Link Archive:

GameSpot -- Search Results For "Star Wars"

159 games, each with game rating and link to a full review... nice, easy, and fast. emoticon

I was working in one of my stores yesterday when a mom came up looking for something for her son's 10th birthday. I suggested the LEGO Star Wars game (she was already looking at the other SW ones) and pulled up the demo. When it got to the part where the Republic Cruiser blew up, she busted a gut laughing so hard -- and bought the game right then/there. emoticon

Re: LEGO Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy

I remember a freind telling me about the first Lego Star Wars game, I wasn't sure at first, but I took a chance and bought it, it was fantastic. The game had so much to offer, playing each level till you find all the lego kits to unlock all the vehicles, and collecting enough studs to buy the extra stuff. Even the cutscenes were funny (The Luke and Leia birth scene was hilarious when the babies popped out with the same hair styles they Luke and leia had in ANH and started bawling).

I cannot wait till the second game is released, if it's anything like the first game, it will be a classic
